When you go to Disney everyone has someone they want to meet. They want that Character Experience. Meeting Cinderella for the first time, seeing Goofy in a parade, having the “I’ve waited my whole life to meet you!” moment we all cried about when the commercial came on. This last trip gave us an outstanding memory.

Our daughter, Rachel, had purchased an awesome book online of all the Disney Characters with their bios and interesting facts which she carried with her to collect autographs.

Her favorite interaction was with Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter; Rachel accidentally dropped a pen as she was handing it to Alice to sign the book. As she leaned over to pick it up, something fell out of the book. “What’s that?” asked Alice.

The Teacups

The teacups are a great place to locate Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter.

“It is a photo card from when we took pictures with Belle”, Rachel explained.  Alice turned and asked, “Hatter, do YOU have a photo card?”

Photo Card?

“Why no, I DON’T have a photo card!  Do YOU have a photo card?” Hatter proclaimed.

“UH, Belle gets everything!” Alice burst out, stomping her foot and crossing her arms.

Even Papa Bear has picked up the statement “Belle gets everything!” and we laugh every time. Guess what, Alice, it is not true! After all, you have your own line of fingernail art and polish at Sally’s Beauty Supply. Belle does not get everything.

Disney presentations are always exceptional and the characters are a prime example of the details required for creating magical experiences. Those playing the characters undergo extensive training in mannerisms, voice inflections, attitudes, and even exact signatures before they are allowed to interact with the guests in the park. A large part of the enchantment of Disney is portrayed through these professional characters and they do a wonderful job!

“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, “or you wouldn’t have come here.”
